Feature Film Winners

The Orcas Island Film Festival, Orcas Open Arts and SIFF invited filmmakers to explore the San Juan Archipelago and use it as a canvas to create short films that inspire. 

We received an amazing response from the local and regional film community with so many excellent submissions. The 2015 Orcas Film Festival is awarding $2500 grants to each of the following Independent Film Makers:


Lacey Leavitt - Escape - Seattle, WA 

Cali Bagby - The Ghost In Red - Orcas Island, WA

Milla Prince - The Commute - Lopez Island, WA


  • The three winning film makers will each receive $2500 to shoot and edit their film from July 24 – October 1st.
  • The Completed films must be delivered by October 1st.
  • The final 3 films will be shown online beginning October 1st and during the Orcas Island Film Festival on October 9-12, 2015.

Online voting will be available on October 2nd, 2015.

The final winner will be selected by the audience online and in person at the Orcas Island Film Festival Festival on October 9-12, 2015.

This years winner will have the honor of being featured in the Seattle International Film Festival in 2016.
